MV Agusta 1985 ca 750 S Magni 789 cc DOHC four cylinder frame # 2210451 engine # 214-0606
After the departure of MV Agusta from racing in 1976, the production of the street models was reduced. Although prototypes were developed until 1977, they were not implemented due to the financial situation of the company – MV made little profit from motorcycles. The production of the 750 S America was maintained until 1978. The last of the 540 machines made were sold officially during 1980. But effectively that was not the end; Arturo Magni continued the MV legacy.
Magni had been a long time race director of the marque and could not bring himself to abandon it when the manufacturer closed its competition department at the end of 1975. From 1978 till around 1980 he independently developed motorcycles from the existing MV engines, together with his sons Giovanni and Carlo. They operated from a small but well-equipped workshop in Samarate, about 32 km from the MV factory. The Magni kit consisted of an 11 kg lightweight frame, which was based on that used on the F750 S Imola racer. His creations had electronic ignition and 30 or 32 mm PHF carburettors and chain drive rather than the more usual shaft drive. As they corresponded to individual orders, Magni MVs are all different. They have been built by craftsmen with great care, and are extremely popular today because they bring the MV a sportier character and are exclusive because of their individual character. Later on Magni used other engines to create his exclusive machines, and after his death in 2015 his sons continued
The machine we offer here has never been ridden and has been part of a private collection since the 1980s. She has been regularly serviced in a professional workshop. Her 750 S engine delivers 75 bhp (56 kW) @ 8,500 rpm and she comes with racing fairing, chain drive, Dell Orto PHF 32 carburettors, alu tank, Brembo brakes, four open exhausts and Veglia rev counter.
