British Journal Photographic Almanac B.J.A. 1945

The British Journal Photographic Almanac from 1949, the famous English yearbook. The B.J.A. has a long history and was first published in 1860. Total number of this year are 576 pages and 188 advertisement pages, many in colour, here a small selection on the photos. 32 unnumbered pages of high quality photogravures. For endless browsing, fact checking or reading the many photographic descriptions of techniques in the more than 250 editorial pages. Almost 100 pages concerning development, early processes, paper negatives, strengthening and weakening, etc., etc. This edition dates from 1949. Due to the Second World War, paper and colored ink were rationed. Supply of new equipment was limited. Many pages due to lack of inks are monochrome.
