A 16th century Morish-Hispanic mortar with two rings. The eight ribs, two of which have rings, is a typical style of Persian mortars from the 11th/14th century. This mortar is not common because of the different sizes. Furthermore, it is a beautifully constructed mortar. And has the authentic dark brown patina. Unfortunately, there is a hole in the bottom that is filled with pewter.
